The BLK ED Network: Squarespace Membership Development

The BLK Ed Network empowers Black Executive Directors as they navigate the systemic challenges in the nonprofit sector by providing access to the community, capital, and equitable development growth opportunities.

There vision is to narrow the racial leadership gap, ultimately driving inclusion, diversity, and solution-based models to eliminate cultural biases, reshaping the philanthropic landscape.

On June 9, 2021, BLK ED Network was introduced to the philanthropic community. The first convening took place on July 14, 2021, and July 28, 2021, in partnership with Maryland Nonprofits. In the fall of 2021, the official programming was launched, establishing the first chapter of BLK ED Network in Baltimore, MD. The goal is to expand beyond Baltimore nationally within the next two years, targeting cities where data shows significant numbers of Black-led nonprofits.

By sharing honest thoughts and bold ideas in a culturally safe space, a better community can be built together—one where everyone has a seat at the table, minority leaders are affirmed in their identity, and the collective effort continues to change the world as planned.
